One of SADC’s critical missions is to promote the region to folks that might be looking to make a move.
One such group of candidates that have been relocating to the area are folks, with their families, that can work out
of their homes for out of state companies by using technology. For this, great connectivity is a must and Houlton has
it. Almost 100 percent of Houlton is wired with fiber optics and connectivity is as good as most places in the U.S.
As a result, we have young folks that are engineers with out-of-state firms working from home, children of Houlton
residents that have moved back with their families to be near their parents and working with global firms specializing
in Artificial Intelligence development and the list goes on.

We recently unveiled a video to promote
opportunities like this. We call them IT
