The Annual Giving Campaign...


        ...A Vital Effort

        Each year you receive annual mailings from us and possible phone calls for giving to the HHSAA Annual Fund Campaign.
        We know that everyone is inundated with these things from many organizations.   It is vital, however, to the existence and
        progression of our organization.  We hope you understand and will continue to support our efforts.

        The importance of the Annual Fund Campaign is outline in detail in the article
        on Planned Giving on page 46.  We are at a crossroads with the Annual Campaign
        and technology is creating a major issue with the campaign like it has with many
        activities held over from the 20th century.

        The Association needs these Annual Funds to support the operational and other
        costs of the organization and to continue our giving.  While we have always
        done well with the annual mail portion of the campaign, the follow up with the
        phonathon is necessary to reach out goal each year.  That still holds true.

        In past phonathons, we have had multiple teams made up of multiple callers
        making calls from two locations over two or more nights in order to get through all
        the names that hadn’t given during the mailing campaign.  The past several years,
        this operation has been condensed to one night of calling with all of the callers   Dave McGillicuddy ‘62 - Calling at a recent

        The condensing of the calling program is, in large part, because of increased efficiencies.  We are also seeing, though, more and
        more alums leaving their land lines and going entirely to cell service - which we often do not have a record of and can’t find the
        number in a phone book - real or virtual.

        We are confident we have reached our $50,000 goal again this year.  We believe, however, that these figures could be increased
        if we could reach more people.  Unfortunately, we have few alums to contact through the phonathon because of no active
        phone number.

        Since this is the case, we ask our alums to share their cell phone numbers with us ... or at least provide a valid E-mail address.
        We do send follow up messages about the Annual Fund Campaign, yet we also send information about Alumni projects and
        events.

        E-mails are very easy to respond to and take less time to process on both parties’ parts.  So, when you read this, please take a
        moment and contact the Association’s secretary Patty Donovan Fitzpatrick ‘63 at mslittleton@pioneercable.net and furnish her
        with your current phone number and E-mail address.

          We started a new program with the 2017-2018 Annual Fund Campaign, where contributors can choose to make an ongoing monthly gift.
