CINDY MILTON ’70 TALKS ABOUT WHAT ’70 CHICKS ASSOCIATION PURCHASES NEW SCOREBOARD FOR
LUNCHEONS MEAN TO HER SOCCER/LACROSSE FIELD
A while ago I took over the planning and picking the Part of the Association’s mission is to fiscally support
date and restaurant for our monthly luncheons. I feel the school with things that are not in the normal
it is important to be consistent and once a month operations budget. We recently purchased a new
works for us. Some of these “chicks“I would see often electronic scoreboard for the soccer field to replace
and some not for years, but the luncheons bring an older one that would not keep track of lacrosse
us together to talk and laugh and be there for each scoring. Lacrosse is a relatively new and well received
other. We have collected money to help a chick with sport for the school. The new score board will do
medical expenses, collected money to do a memorial both soccer and lacrosse. The old one will be used
at the Cary Library for one and at the Houlton Humane in another field. It was not installed before freezing

in the same town and others grew up in Houlton or ’25 issue.
Monticello. Seeing their faces each month brings
much happiness to me personally. Such funny stories
about themselves, their spouses, and grandchildren.
Grandchildren are the joy of our lives in so many ways.
Sharing our lives with each other is a comfort to me
and I hope all of them also. Most of us have health
concerns of one sort or another and it is comforting to
share these with good friends who understand. It also
makes me glad to support local restaurants, which is
helping our community. We live in a hard world but
in a wonderful small town and I hope we can have
these luncheons for a long time to come. Cindy Milton
EDITOR’s NOTE: Seems these luncheons are good
therapy for Cindy and something like this might be
good for other alums to think about doing with their
classes.
