The North Star Gets a New Look . . .
Needs the Readers Help to Finalize the Look!

As you know, the newsletter has become a full four-
color publication of usually 60 plus pages, a substantial
collection of news, articles and events covering the
wonderful alumni of Houlton High School. As such it has
taken on the aura of a quality magazine, something we
have been noticing and discussing in-house.
This idea was driven home to us by one of our alumni
that sent an email saying that we should rename the
publication. To him the name “newsletter” brought up
thoughts of a few pages, photocopied and stapled and
it has become much more to him. He feels it is now a
beautiful “magazine” quality piece. This cemented our
thoughts and the committee agreed with the alum and
voted to make the change. Effective with this issue, the
publication is officially titled “The North Star Magazine”.
The new name reflected the need for a makeover of a
fresh, new look. You will notice that the title banner has
a new look and new graphics for the cover photos. In
addition, the cover sports a new logo developed for the
Association. Inside are new graphics for the pages – the
triangular look taken from the cover for title blocks and
page footers.
