The Maine Eclipse, continued
educate and energize the area’s faith organizations.
The Greater Houlton Chamber Executive Director, Jane
Torres, skillfully led the extensive event planning and
execution. She was instrumental in engaging Big Nazo,
a performance troupe adding unique space-aged color
to the festival. Our resident astrophysicist, Mark Horvath,
provided enriching public presentations to educate the
public on the science of an eclipse. Jon McLaughlin ‘73,
executive director of the Houlton High School Alumni
Association, used every opportunity to create awareness
