Matching Gift Challenge A Huge Success!

In August, the Alumni Association rolled out its first ever Matching Gift Challenge. Thanks to a generous grant
from the Aaron A. & Maria H. Putnam Family Charitable Trust, we had $45,000 available to match gifts to the
Association on a one-to-one basis.

The response to the Matching Gift Challenge was overwhelming! In fact, the matching funds were all spoken for in
approximately 24 hours!

Thank you to everyone who responded to the call and made a contribution during the Challenge. We truly
appreciate your generosity and support.

We had some checks and donations that came in after the matching funds were depleted. Thanks to another gift
from the Putnam Family Trust, those donations will also be matched. We thank the trustees of the Putnam Trust for
their continued support of the Houlton High School Alumni Association.

Social/Golf Scramble 2018

Another fun time was had at Houlton Community Golf Club this summer when the Alumni Golf Scramble
and Social were held in July. The winners of this year’s Golf Scramble was the team of Jason Gilpatrick ‘89, Jed
Gilpatrick, Karen Gallop ‘64 and Pam Mailman ‘73. The 2nd place team consisted of Randy Lincoln, Brent

Lincoln ‘75, Sharon O’Donnell ‘73 and Brian Gardiner. Making up the 3rd place team was Mitch Holmes ‘79,
Logan Holmes ‘11, Drew Marino ‘18 and Ryan Brewer ‘05

Start planning now for next year. In 2019, the Social will be held on Friday, July 5th with the Golf Scramble on
Saturday, July 6th.

Mark your calendar now and plan to be in Houlton for the next Multi Class Reunion.
Reunion 2020 will be held from July 4-11, 2020.
