Test Your Memory

Well, we’re back. After a hiatus due to lack of space in the Spring/Summer ‘24 magazine for eclipse stories, “TestYour
Memory” is back and as hard or easy as in the past depending on your sleuth skills. Not certain where we stopped in
our historical game of Houlton’s past, but one fact is known - the game is the leader. Presently we think the score is
Contest: 5 Stumps to Sleuths’ 1 Solve. Come on folks, you can do it with
        some legwork.
Based on this issue’s picture, there are three questions we need answers
        to:

        1. Who is the esteemed gentleman in this photo?
        2. What is he known for?
        3. About what time in Houlton’s history was his vision accomplished?

If you can provide some other interesting tidbits of information on this
gentleman in addition to answering the above questions, you will earn
a second Gold Star and be listed as having 2 Sleuths solved.

        Now for some easy hints:
As usual go to the Aroostook Historical and Arts Museum website to do
your sleuthing. https://www.houltonmuseum.org/ In the top banner
go to Collections and click on it. Then scroll down the list about a
third of the way until you come to one of our favorite topics – Houlton
History Lessons. Click on it and a column will pop up with all of the
        history lessons.
Hint #1: Many of the topic titles are underlined. This person’s history lesson is underlined but is it one near the top,
middle or bottom of the list? You put your Sherlock Holmes hat on and find it.
Hint #2: 2 plays an important part in finding this history lesson listing.
        Good sleuthing!
