Around Town
By Paula Woodworth ‘70
I recently had the opportunity, along with
some friends, to visit the Tekakapimek Contact
Station in the Woods and Waters monument.
It’s not in town, but it’s close enough for a nice
day trip. We were all awestruck by the beauty
of the setting and the talented work that went
into the design of the building, and the artwork
inside.
As I write this, it is Indigenous People’s Day here
in Maine. There is no better way to learn about
the four Wabanaki nations of our region than
to spend time with the displays and artwork
here. Our own Richard Silliboy has some of his
beautiful work on display. Take time to go visit.
