20,000 people, 2 ½ years of work, and 3 ½ minutes of
fame and in Houlton “The End ‘Was’ Here!“ A beautiful
day after significant snow falls a few days before the
event and a time of year that the meteorologists said
that Houlton is overcast 76% of the time on April 8th.
Houlton received fame for these few hours from all the
major national news networks and several regional
news reporting networks. In total the airtime promoting
this region would have been worth millions of dollars
if it had been paid advertising. With folks from all 50
states and several countries here, Houlton was certainly
presented in a professional and wonderful light. Thank
you goes out to the Eclipse Committee, The Ambassador
Group, Town of Houlton and its department heads
and employees, and the hundreds of folks that helped
in many various ways to make the Eclipse Weekend
the success it was. Homes were sold to visiting eclipse
