CAM CLARK ‘16 SPRING CHANGES IN HISTORIC DOWNTOWN

We’ve all seen him riding his unicycle in the 4th of July Spring is here and things are changing in our historic
parade. We’ve bought his picnic tables and rented his Downtown. New businesses have opened, and a
storage spaces. We’ve hired him for lawn service and mainstay has closed. As many of you know, Country
watched him work hard to build his real estate portfolio. North has closed. This was sad news for everyone as
But did we think we would see him as the interim Town it was a favorite shopping destination for locals and
Manager? visitors. Market Square Antiques and Pawn will be
moving into part of the space soon. Diane and Shannon,
who worked at Country North, are opening a new shop,
Bittersweet Thyme, in Lisa’s Hair Design’s building on
                                                                  upper Main Street.

Surprise! Cam Clark (2016) stepped up to take on the
job when the previous Town Manager left. He has thrown
himself into the job with the same dedication he has
given his other pursuits. Cam has three degrees from
Husson-ending with an MBA. And he has brought that
knowledge to the town office. He has familiarized himself
with the various departments, met with school board
members and the budget committee. He has looked at
the town’s finances and explained our current position at
        Council meetings.

I attend the Council meetings regularly and have been
impressed with all the knowledge he had gained in Sundara Beauty Med Spa has opened in the former
a short period of time. We spoke recently and I asked gaming space on the corner of Broadway. Call to make
him what he sees as the town’s biggest challenges. His an appointment to get beautified! Over on Court Street,
response was: attracting and retaining new residents, the Pioneer Times office space is being renovated now
dealing with infrastructure, and economic development. that we have the County paper. A few doors down, 207

We owe Cam a big thank you for stepping up and Collectibles will be opening in April with gaming and
serving in the interim capacity and keeping us on track. gaming collectibles for sale.
IMHO, Cam would be the perfect person to tackle our
challenges and lead Houlton forward as the new Town
        Manager. Thanks Cam!
