Test Your Memory
We have just been too hard on our alums with the past few quizzes. The count stands at Contest: 5 stumps and Alums:
2 solves. We must do something about this past performance, and we think we have it with this issue’s test.
While this will be quite hard for the younger alums, older alums and local history buffs should be able to get this one
right. At least give it a try, folks.
Here are the questions:
1. What is the significance of this building other
than the obvious that it is a barber shop? HINT:
More like what important part of town was it
located?
2. When was this picture taken? HINT: An early ‘60’s
class is the same age
3. Who is this barber? HINT: He played an
important role in Houlton’s history and had
many friends that were tied to agriculture.
BONUS QUESTION #1: Who is the gentleman in the
barber chair? He ties this quiz all together.
Solve the bonus question and you would earn a second Gold Star if you answered the 3 questions correctly.
ADDED BONUS #2: Usually if multiple people are correct on a quiz, it is just counted as 1 solve on the tally sheet.
We are feeling generous this Spring as warmer weather is on its way. We will count each person that answers the
questions correctly as a separate solve so this is your chance as Alums to surpass the Contest’s current stump total of 5.
