Around Town, continued...

Downtown Sidewalk Project

On Monday, April 20, while some people are running
the Boston Marathon, Josh McLaughlin and his crew
will begin their own marathon with the long-awaited
Downtown sidewalk replacement. We know our
hometown boy will work his magic here. They will tackle
the Square first and plan to have that section completed
for the 4th of July festivities. Josh has planned everything
to avoid a lot of disruption to traffic and shoppers.

After the 4th, work will continue up Main Street and
should be completed in early August. The Chamber has
purchased some new benches for Downtown, and the
Canopy Crew is coordinating with the sidewalk crew to
get the gardens planted and display some new planters.
There is also a rumor that the horse trough might be
turned back into a fountain if it can be worked out.

No more slippery bricks! We will have beautiful new brick
colored stamped hot top.

And because Josh thinks of everything, he has a raffle
planned for the Downtown businesses. In order to keep
shoppers coming Downtown during the sidewalk work,
when you shop in a Downtown store you will be entered
in a raffle to win a $100 gift card to a Downtown business
each week.

Keep an eye on the progress being made and be sure
to thank Josh and his crew for their hard work. Soon we
will have new sidewalks, new benches and flowering
gardens.
