TEST YOUR MEMORY

Folks, we don’t know what to say. The Spring/Summer ’21 “test” we thought was fairly easy, but we only received
one submission. Well, this issue’s quiz is probably quite hard, but it is quite an interesting one.

It can be solved with a search through the Aroostook Historical and Arts
Museum’s link to the Maine Memory Network.

        Well, here we go:

        1. Who is the gentleman in the picture?

        2. What year was the picture taken?
        3. Where was the picture taken and the role the
            gentleman had?

        4. Most importantly who was the child and the
commonality that ultimately bonded the two?

Put on your Sherlock Holmes detective hat and go to the museum’s website
collaboration with the Maine Memory Network at acham.mainememory.net/
        page/105/display.html
Do your research and you will find the answers and you could very well be the Gold Star winner for this quiz.

Answers to the Spring/Summer '21 Test Your Memory

We thought we went easy on you for the Spring/Summer ’21 issue of “Test Your Memory” , but it was either harder
than we thought, or you didn’t want to take the time to do some sleuth work in the HHS yearbook digital archives.
Luckily, we had one super sleuth that responded to our request.
It is good that someone solved the mystery of this 50-year-old photo from a class that opted not to have a 50th
reunion due to the current health scares that continue from Covid. We honored the class with this mystery photo from
          their Senior year.
WE ASKED THESE QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS PICTURE:
“What do these lovely ladies represent?”
“What year was this picture taken?”
“Left to Right-who are these ladies?”
“What is the significance for these ladies?”

MARY JO MOREAU ‘76 WROTE IN TO TELL US:
The ladies were the candidates for this year’s Dirigo Girls State,
          The year was 1971,
From left to right they are Cathy Carton, Ann McPartland, Carla McGinnis and Wendy Walton and,
One of Dirigo Girls State precepts was that candidates that were chosen to take part show the qualities of Leadership.
Mary also answered this question correctly.
Having correctly answered all four questions, Mary Jo Moreau earns the for
solving this “Test Your Memory” quiz.

          Thanks for playing Mary.
