Sadie's Ladies Music Department

NEWS FROM THE MUSIC ROOM

Greetings Shiretowners!

The music department is off to another great year! We’re currently down one teacher as Jason Anderson has left
our team to work for the Maine Department of Education a the Visual and Performing Arts Specialist. Currently
Mr. Hutchinson and I are holding down the foRt and hopefully soon we will have a new chorus teacher. This is not
slowing us down by any means. We are trudging through as best as we can.

The high school musical Hunchback of Notre Dame will go on as planned. Our performance dates are November
21-24. We are looking forward to bringing you our production. Currently we have about 40 students participating
this year.

The bands are putting on a concert earlier than normal this year in order to bring a new type of experience to our
community. Our concert is set for October 22, it will be a spooky Halloween inspired event. We are looking
forward to the big change, this means that we only rehearse for just under two months, then hit the stage with the
middle school and high school band. This will also give us time to focus in on the needs of the musical for about
one month on the stage.

The chorus concert is still scheduled to go on in December, but keep your ears open. You can never tell what crazy
stuff we may try to do, maybe chorus might be early as well. We are deciding this in the next couple of days.

We are trying to be innovative in our programing to bring fresh new approaches to our students and community. If
anyone is interested in an Alumni band playing at a basketball game, send me an email and let me know. I would
love to bring back the tradition and see as many friendly faces from the past as we can. We are also putting together
an alumni group for the July reunion. We are looking forward to what should be a great year, hope to see you visit
us during the next couple months.
