Lou’s worries. With the help of new friends, the two begin to learn a new technique to calm their minds and bodies …
mindfulness. These two characters are named after Kim’s family dogs. The book was published by Loving Healing Press.

Kim has done book signings locally and in Falmouth at Rainbow Toys owned by fellow alum Julie Goodwin ’78. The book is
available at the Houlton Regional Hospital gift shop and through Amazon.

It seems natural that Kim took to writing since her mother is Kay Trickey who wrote for many years for the Houlton Pioneer
Times including a regular column called “Discover Houlton”. She also singled out Alison Wiggin as one of the HHS teachers
who fostered her love of reading and writing.
Kim Trickey Larkins Kim has 3 siblings that are also Houlton High alums – Joel ’70, Jace ’75 and Jeff ’80. Kim’s two children are alums, as well.

Daughter Sarah ’00 is a speech language pathologist. Kim noted that Alison Wiggin was also very influential to Sarah when
she was in High School saying she went above and beyond as a caring, interested teacher. Son Theron ’07 has followed in
the family footsteps earning a degree in English and is a writer. He, in fact, worked briefly in the County for the Aroostook
Republican newspaper which has the same parent company as his grandmother’s former employer Houlton Pioneer Times.
Kim also has two grandchildren, Guyer and Giavanna.

Kim Trickey Larkins is another great example of a successful Houlton High alum using the foundation she received at
our school to accomplish great things. We encourage you to check out her book. We will keep you posted on any future
publications. We extend our thanks to Kim for sharing her story and wish her continued prosperity.
