Editor’s Note: The Greater Houlton Chamber of Commerce, The Putnam Trust and the Aroostook County Historical and
Arts Museum partnered together to create a guided walking tour of many of the historical buildings in downtown Houlton. All honored buildings
have a beautiful bronze plaque installed on them with a QR code. All one must do is focus their smart phones on the QR code and they will be
linked to a 3 to 4- minute narrated history of the building. To date in the phase I portion of the project there 21 buildings being featured. Below is
a sampling of four of the buildings with their QR codes (also a link if you have a tough time with using the code). If you like what you see, please
come home to Houlton next spring, and take the time to wander at your leisure through town and check out the history on all the buildings. To learn
